ERNEST GERRY WILLIMANTIC – Ernest Gerry, 80, husband of Priscilla (Ronco) Gerry, passed away Oct. 24, 2003, at a local nursing home, with his family by his side. He was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Dexter, the son of George A. and Agnes (Wheeler) Gerry. A graduate of N.H. Faye High School in Dexter, Class of 1943, he served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Chase and Kimball Oil Co. for many years before going into the heating business for himself. Ernest loved his family and dedicated a major part of his life to them. He was a craftsman, who worked very hard every day of his life. He measured the quality of his day by how much he accomplished. No one in the family could keep up with him. When not working, he loved to spend time at his camp at Tim’s Cove on Sebec Lake, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling and snowmobiling. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Priscilla of Willimantic; his daughter, Bonnie Guyotte and her husband, Joe, of Dover-Foxcroft; his son, Allen Gerry and his wife, Diane, of Otisfield; his daughter, Candice Stevens of Dover-Foxcroft; his daughter, Janis Meyer and her husband, Mike, of Stratton; his step-mother, Edna Gerry of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside memorial funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at the family lot in Dover Cemetery, with Father James Robichaud officiating. Following the service all are invited to the home of Joe and Bonnie Guyotte, 162 Bolton Road, Dover-Foxcroft, for a time of fellowship and refreshment.
