HOUSTON – Ernest J. Raymond, 67, died Dec. 19, 2005, of cancer, with his loving wife, Pat, by his side. Ernie was born Oct. 18, 1938, in Winterville, the son of Joseph Jr. and Laura (Gagnon) Raymond. For many years Ernie worked as a meat cutter at Kroger Grocery in Houston and even continued to give “lessons” on which way to cut steak after he was no longer able to work. Memories of the good times, and even some of the not so good, will be treasured by all those who knew and loved Ernie. Whether Ernie was with his brother-in-law, Bill Montie and his wife, Mary, or sister-in-law, Jackie and her husband, Tom Hynes, or with special friends, Linda and Ray Daigle, or at his home-away-from-home in Abbot at his niece, Betty and her husband, Dallas Patterson’s house, he had a smile on his face. He looked forward to red hot dogs and lobster whenever he was there. So many people were blessed by knowing Ernie and his memory will live on in each of those people. Ernie is survived by his wife, Pat Montie Palma-Raymond; her children, Michelle and husband, Edward “Cookie” Delaney, Alisa Palma-Lee, Michael and wife, Nely Palma and Robert Palma; grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, Jonathan, Quenton, Britny and Alex; sisters, Antoinette “Toni” and husband, John Lesser, Doris “Dottie” and husband, Bob Dean; brothers, Wilford “Babe” and his late wife, Mary, William “Bill” and his late wife, Barbara and Camille and his late wife, Mary Jane Raymond. In addition to those he has left behind are his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Ernie was predeceased by his brothers, Lawrence “Wally” and Willard Raymond; his sisters, Joanne Cooley and Jeanette Rancourt. Graveside committal services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. A reception with food, drinks and memories will be after the service at Betty and Dallas Patterson’s home in Abbot.
