CARY PLANTATION – Ervin L. Putnam, 87, died July 27, 2005, at his residence. He was born April 3, 1918, at Cary, the so of Bert V. and Eva (Colbath) Putnam. Ervin was a member of the Cary Baptist Church and was involved in all aspects of the church including many years as deacon and secretary. He was employed for many years by the Maine Department of Transportation as a supervisor in the Bridge Maintenance Department. He is survived by his son-in-law, David McLaughlin of Dyer Brook; two granddaughters, Sherry Hand and her husband, Albert, of Houlton, Patty Burpee and her husband, Adam, of Oakfield; three great-grandchild-ren, Darin, Casey and Lauren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Scott) Putnam; his son, his daughter and four brothers. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery.
