ERVINE ARTHUR MOWBRAY PERTH-ANDOVER, New Brunswick and FORT FAIRFIELD – Ervine Arthur Mowbray, 77, died at home unexpectedly on Jan. 15, 2004. He was born May 21, 1926, the son of the late Forest C. and Alexanderina (Stewart) Mowbray. Ervine married his wife, Gloria, on June 27, 1959, at the family homestead in Upper Kintore. He moved his family to the United States in 1963 where he was employed as a welder for the Sugar Beet Plant in Easton, maintenance repairman at the Potato Service Plant in Presque Isle, a contractor for A.C.A.P. local farmers and a caretaker for the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Fairfield. He was involved in building the Fort Fairfield Blockhouse. He operated his own Laundromat business in his home in Fort Fairfield. He and Gloria attended the Baptist Church in Fort Fairfield and when he moved back to New Brunswick he attended the Baptist Church in Upper Kintore. Ervine remained in the U.S. until 1990 when he moved back to the old homestead to care for his ailing sister, Margaret. He was an avid musician, playing the fiddle and guitar. He loved to dance and was admired for his dancing ability. He enjoyed attending the Wednesday Night Fiddlers, local dance halls and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen W. and Bonnie Sue Mowbray; grandchildren, Melanie Olivia and Joshua Stephen Mowbray; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Sylvia (Browning) Little, Winston and Linda Browning, Melvin and Sandra Browning and Elizabeth Mowbray; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Graydon DeMerchant, Muriel Stone and Donna Cullins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Gloria (Browning) Mowbray in 1984; three brothers, Stewart, Lawrence and Archie Mowbray; one sister, Margaret (Smith) Mowbray; and one brother-in-law, Kenneth Browning. Resting at White’s Funeral Home with visiting hours will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, from White’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Andrew Matthews officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, at a later date. Memorial donations to the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated.
