CARIBOU – Ervine H. Churchill 75, died peacefully Oct. 8, 2004, at Palm Beach Fla. He was born June 3, 1929, in Washburn, the son of Harry and Pearl Churchill. He attended the Caribou schools, earned his bachelor of science degree from the Aroostook State Teachers College as well as his masters degree from the University of Maine at Orono. Ervine enjoyed working with his hands and was an avid horse racing fan. His love for cars was evident to all who knew him, as was his enviable quick wit. He is survived by his loving wife, Una Churchill of Fort Pierce, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Carla Churchill of Portland; three sisters, Catherine Turner and her husband, Guy, of Washburn, Leatha Wilson of Caribou and Christina Lavway and her husband, Clair, of Washburn; one sister-in-law, Eunice Bothwick of Calais; three granddaughters, Eliza of Portland and Olivia and Brittany of Bath. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother Allen; and a sister, Adeline Plissey. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, from the Chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, with the Rev. Dorothy Matson officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
