DONALD F. SCRIBNER SR. BELFAST – Donald F. Scribner Sr., 89, of Belfast passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, in Belfast. He was born Dec. 18, 1914, in North Searsport, the son of Percy and Mathilda (George) Scribner. He attended local schools and served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a former member of the VFW of Northport, Post 6131. Donald worked at Summers Fertilizer in Sandy Point, then for Northern Chemical and Delta Chemical, Searsport, retiring after 30 years. Until recent years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He filled many hours reading. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Anna (Wood) Scribner; one son, Donald Jr. of Washington; one grandson, Cory Scribner of Bangor; two special nieces, Hazel Pendleton of Belfast and Donna Hall of Morrill; one niece and four nephews. His parents, one sister Katherine; and two brothers, Milton and Sumner died previously. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave, Belfast, with the Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.
