PITTSFIELD – Ethel L. Dunton, 87, passed away Sunday Jan. 8, 2006 at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield. She was born June 2, 1918, in Blainey Ridge, N.B., the daughter of Harry C. Davis and Medora (Parker) Davis. She graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1936 and later met and married Harry Dunton. She was a 50-year member of the Pittsfield Grange, a member of the Tuesday and Garden Clubs in Pittsfield, a member of the Farm Bureau. She liked gardening and flowers, was a very good seamstress and a great cook. She worked in the florist business and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was very proud of her family. She is survived by her children, Eva Charity of Plymouth, Alice Ouellette and her husband, Allen, of Larchwood, Iowa, Clifford Allen of Canaan; her stepchildren, Corris Ann Richards of Lincoln, Merlon Dunton and his wife, Kay, of Ripley; grandchildren, Sandra, Jennifer, Eric, Aimee, Peter, Teri, Bryan; stepgrandchildren, Bobby and Denise; eight great-grandchildren, four great-step-grandchildren; one brother, C. Perley Davis and his wife, Mary, of Plymouth and Leesburg, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Harry who died 2003. A graveside service will be held at Village Cemetery in Pittsfield in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield.
