HERMON and SWAN LAKE Ethne Wooster Farnham, 91, wife of the late Arthur H. Farnham Sr., died Feb. 18, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 10, 1912, in South Penobscot, the daughter of Ralph J. and Eleanor (Snow) Wooster. Ethne graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast. She earned a BA at the University of Maine. She taught at Children’s Opportunity Center for Eastern Maine Friends of Retarded Children. She was active in Girl Scouting and was a member of the Waldo County Retired Teachers Association and the Delta Zeta sorority. She and Arthur were dedicated members of the Swan Lake Association. Survivors include one son, Arthur H. Farnham Jr., of Dover, N.H.; two daughters, Sarah E. Smart of Hermon and Margaret E. Farnham of Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; including a special cousin Greg Osgood. A memorial service will be held in the spring at a time and date to be announced. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Belfast. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
