CARIBOU – Euclid Edward Jalbert, 83, died March 11, 2005, at Caribou following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Caribou the son of Narcisse and Odile (Theriault) Jalbert. Mr. Jalbert served with the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II and was a life member of the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and on Oct. 1, 1946, he married Jeanne (Jandreau) Jalbert. Euclid was employed as a cab driver for Cyr’s Taxi in Caribou for over 25 years. Surviving in addition to his wife of more than 58 years, Jeanne of Caribou; are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Nancy Jalbert of Windsor, Conn., and Alan and Robyn Jalbert of Caribou; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Gloria and Ed Williams of Fayetteville, N.C., Anne and Cliff Babkirk of Sanford, Jacqueline and Rob Weaver of Laurel, Md., Norma Gross of Auburn and Paula and Dana Ward of Brewer; four brothers, Herman Jalbert of South Portland, Ludger Jalbert of Springfield, Gerald and Vernon Jalbert both of Caribou; seven sisters, Lillian Bonsaint of Caribou, Gertrude Desmond of Newport News, Va., Hilda Lewis of New Britain Conn., Theresa Cole of Pompano Beach, Fla., Lorraine Molloy and Linda Cyr both of Caribou and Erline Kennedy of Southbridge, Mass.; 14 grandchildren, Crystal Hughes, Toby and Megan Jalbert, Audrey and Drew Babkirk, Beth and Sam Jalbert, Josh Dowell, Dustin and Danny Gross, Ryan and Michelle Ward, Teresa Brodsky and Tony Williams; four great-grandchildren, Tia, Kali and Dylan Hughes and Max Brodsky; a daughter-in-law, Gail Jalbert of Augusta, many nieces and nephews. Euclid will be sadly missed by his entire family and many friends. Mr. Jalbert was predeceased by a son Kenneth in 1982. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2005, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
