NEWPORT – James Malcolm Black Jr., 41, died unexpectedly March 8, 2005, at his Main Street residence. He was born Feb. 21, 1964, at Revere, Mass. a son of James and Lucille (Lewis) Black Sr. He graduated from Nokomis Regional High through the GED program. Jamie will be missed by his friends and family. He loved the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed seeing them win the World Series. He spent many a happy hour riding and racing his motorcycle, and riding it to Laconia, N.H. He dearly loved his dog, Pollo, and also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys football team. In his earlier years, he served the community coaching youth basketball and baseball. Jamie was also a toy collector. His collections consisted of sports figurines and diecast cars and bikes. He is survived by his father, James Black Sr.; and step-mother, Sally Black of Northeast Harbor; his mother, Lucille Grant; and stepfather, George Grant Jr. of Newport; his brother, Billy Black of East Newport; three stepbrothers, Josh and wife, Katie Grant, of St. Albans, Jody Grant and his fianc?e, Darlene Hopkins, of Plymouth, and Torrey Grant of Syracuse, N.Y.; a nephew, Hayden Black; and two nieces, Brittney Black and Peyton Grant; two special friends, Sandra Sword and Amanda Hayes, both of Newport. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport, where a service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Spring burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Somesville, Mount Desert.
