DAMARISCOTTA – Eudora Fay Moody Easler Daniels, 93, of Coves Edge in Damariscotta, died peacefully Aug. 31, 2004, at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta with her daughter by her side. She was born April 23, 1911, in Cornville, the daughter of Ray Moody and Lizzie Churchill. She was a 1929 graduate of Bloomfield Academy, in Skowhegan. After high school, for several years, she was a domestic worker for wealthy families. Later she worked in a spinning mill in Skowhegan and in a knitting mill in Rochester, N.Y. She also was a nurse’s aide at a hospital in Lincoln. An important part of her life was her membership in the Church of the Nazerene in Skowhegan and in North Waldoboro. And amongst all of her many roles in life, she found caring for her home and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the most rewarding. She was predeceased by her first husband, Percy Easler of Madison in 1945; by her second husband, Dana M. H-Daniels in 1997; by a brother, Leslie Moody of Pittsfield; and by stepchildren, Jasper Easler, Marshall Easler, Amber Easler Meader, and Heather Daniels Thurlow of New York. She is survived by her daughter, Marjory Easler Gifford Drisko and husband, Ed, of Bristol; grandchildren, Cheryl Reed Preble and husband, Arliss, of Norridgewock, Elaine Hall Gifford of Bar Harbor, and Laurie Gifford Martin and husband, Alan, of Warren; great-grandchildren, Tracy Reed of Clinton, Ryan and Brad Reed of Waterville, Angela Hall of Bar Harbor, and Charlotte and Jared Martin of Warren; her sisters and brothers, Lina Whittemore and husband, Philip, of Chesterville, Myron Moody and wife, Emily, of Cornville, Ruth Clark of Bangor, Amy Stevens of Delmont, S.D., Freemont Moody and wife, Nancy, of Cornville, Willis Moody and wife, Angeline, of Sheboygan, Wis., Allen Moody and wife, Beverly, of Houlton; many nephews and nieces; stepchildren by her first marriage, Glenys Oliver and husband, Charles, of Canaan, and Hilma Meader of Benton; and stepchildren by her second marriage, Dana Daniels Jr. and wife, Peggy, of Camden, Olive Wheaton and husband, Dave, of Presque Isle, Melissa Larson of New Hampshire, and Kirk Daniels and wife, Anita, of Scarborough. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, with a funeral service being held Saturday, Sept. 4, at Smart and Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro.
