PRESQUE ISLE – Eugene A. Pelkey, 65, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 14, 1941, in Presque Isle, the son of Kilburn and Marie (St. Peter) Pelkey Sr. Eugene operated his own farm and logging business for years. He is survived by his wife, Florence (Carney) Pelkey of Presque Isle; two sons, Jody Pelkey and his wife, Carol, of Fort Fairfield and Eugene Pelkey Jr. and his fiance, Patricia LaPointe, of Presque Isle; a daughter, Sandra Carrier and her husband, John III, of Chapman; eight grandchildren; four brothers and their wives, Roger and Jean Pelkey of Presque Isle, Kilburn Pelkey Jr. of Presque Isle, James and Margie Pelkey of Florida, Terry and Lynn Pelkey of Wayne; four sisters and their husbands, Joyce Kinney of Brewer, Brenda and Morris “Fudd” Wood of Mapleton, Rachael and Darrell Lombard of Windsor, Loriann and Richard Bois of New York; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Pelkey of Presque Isle. He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Percy Pelkey. Relatives and friends may call 4-9 p.m. Thursday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Main Street, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
