GRANBURY, TEXAS and ASHLAND – Eugene D. Walker, 62, died Tue sday, Nov. 18, 2003, at a Granbury, Texas, hospital after a long battle with heart problems. He was born in Ashland, Oct. 28,1941, the son of Everett and Odelle (Carney) Walker Sr. He attended Ashland Schools and served with three military branches, the Army, Air Force and the Navy. He was currently employed by the U.S. Postal Service. Eugene is survived by his wife, Virginia (Smith) Walker, of Granbury, Texas; two daughters, Deborah Augusta of Greenland, N.H., and Tabitha Walker of Savannah, Ga.; three sisters, Pearle Soucy of Portage Lake, Ruth Orr of Lewes, Del., and Marjorie Shaw of Ellsworth; one brother, Melvin Walker of Longwood, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two children, LuAnne Walker and Chad Walker; and by three brothers, Wilfred Joseph Walker, Donald Walker and Everett Walker Jr. A memorial service will be held in Granbury, Texas, on Saturday, Nov. 22.
