CORINNA – Eugene Gary Cupstid II, 49, died unexpectedly April 11, 2006, at his home in Corinna. He was born Nov. 11, 1956, in Charleston, S.C., the son of the late Eugene Gary and Betty Jean (Stokes) Cupstid. A veteran of Desert Storm, Gary served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1995 as a senior chief. Gary had a great passion for life. After retirement, he pursued hobbies including book writing and cooking. Recently he was employed by Green Acres Nursery, where he developed an interest in gardening. Gary is survived by his loving partner, Anita; brothers, John and Jay Cupstid; and a sister, Carolyn Festa. A private memorial service will be held by his family on Friday.
