CRYSTAL – Eugene Slauenwhite, 66, died June 29, 2006, in Houlton. He was born July 20, 1939, in Island Falls, the son of Clifford and Mildred (Clark) Slauenwhite Sr. He was veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He was vice commander of the Frank B. Holden Post No. 52 American Legion Oakfield and member of the Island Falls Baptist Church. He retired from Northland Telephone Co. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gloria (Raymond) Slauenwhite of Crystal; three children, Peter and his wife, Beth Slauenwhite, of St. Petersburgh, Fla., Karen and her husband, Paul Sirois, of Island Falls and Jason and his wife, Terri Slauenwhite, of Island Falls; nine grandchildren, Paula and Rochelle Sirois, Cameron Landry, Katelyn Slauenwhite, Melissa, Jennifer, Jessica, Soleaya and Jordan Szwed; two brothers, Rodney of Oakfield, Clifford Jr. and his wife, Vicky, of Smyrna; and one sister, Gayle and her husband, Nelson Sirois, of Millinocket; sisters-in-law, Regina and Keith McManus, Jeannette and Ken Prescott; brothers-in-law, Rudolph and Merlyne Raymond, Albert and Linda Raymond and Rodney and Benda Raymond; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his buddies at Porter’s. He was predeceased by his parents and mother-in-law, M. Jane Raymond. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Monday at the Island Falls United Baptist Church with funeral services being held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Gary Johnson and Fr. Eddy Morin officiating. Interment will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Agnes Cemetery, Island Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Island Falls Ambulance Service, Island Falls, ME 04747.
