BANGOR – Eugenia S. Witham, wife of the late Wallace F. Witham Sr., died May 17, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born March 25, 1916, in Bangor, the daughter of Paul C. and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Savage. She graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1933 and Stoneleigh Jr. College in 1937. She and her husband resided for many years in Brewer. After his death in 1976, she lived in Bangor and Florida, residing for 16 years at Phillips-Strickland House in Bangor and finally at the Ross Manor Home, also in Bangor. Mrs. Witham was a member of All Souls’ Congregational Church; MPM Club and a charter member of the Maine Old Cemetery Association. She was formerly a member of Shakespeare Club; Abnaki Girl Scout Council; Bangor Historical Society; YWCA; D.A.R.; Bangor Tuberculosis and Health Association and the Brewer Public Library Board of Directors. Her life-long involvement with art and crafts were enjoyed by the family, friends, and the Bangor-Brewer Community. Surviving are her loving children, Wallace F. Jr. and his wife, Ellen; and daughter, Karen; Elizabeth and children, Susan, Steven and Christopher; Margo and daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law, James Berg, John and son, Christopher; and Paul; four great-grandchildren, Rebecca Traylor, Anthony Robertson, Morgan and Riley Berg; and two sisters, Barbara Thompson and Priscilla Parkhurst; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her passionate interest in genealogy kept her in close touch with this extended family. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2005, at All Souls Congregational Church, 10 Broadway, Bangor with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, Pastor and Teacher, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share in conversation and refreshments in the Heath Room following the service. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
