BANGOR – Eunice Elizabeth Crowder, 82, died Jan. 14, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1922, in Bangor, daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Dearn) Crowder. Eunice was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1940, and Husson College. She had been employed by the T.R. Savage Company and retired from A.J. Cole and Son. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and past president of the Altar Guild of the church. Eunice was also a member and past president of the Patawa Club of Bangor. Corresponding secretary of the Maine Women’s Clubs, and a former member of the Bangor Secretary’s Club. Surviving are three nieces, Judith (Philbrick) Morgan and her husband, Frank, of Brewer, Bonnie (Philbrick) Allen, and her husband, Arthur, of Glenburn, Anne Mejicano of Phoenix, Ariz.; a nephew, Stephen S. Crowder of Las Vegas, Nev., several cousins, a brother-in-law, Albert Philbrick of Brewer; several special friends, especially “the girls.” She was predeceased by a sister, Frances Philbrick; and a brother, Albert P. Crowder. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor with the Rev. Kevin Holsapple rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church officiating. Spring interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Brewer. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., following the service Tuesday.
