ALLAGASH – Eva Jackson, 89, beloved wife of the late Roland Jackson, died Sept. 2, 2007, at her residence. She was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Allagash, the daughter of Albert and Eva M. (Kelly) McBreairty. Eva worked as a cook for the school department and in sporting camps for many years. She also worked for the Maine Forest Service and was a check point attendant for the Northern Maine Woods for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Allagash Historical Society, PTA member of the Allagash school system and a member of the Allagash Mission Circle in the Allagash Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Roland Jackson, in 1998. She is survived by three daughters, Ina Doody and her husband, Dana, of Woodland, Shelda Wickstrom of Caribou, and Judith Pelletier and her husband, Cederic, of Allagash; four sons, Colin Jackson and his wife, Norma, and Joel Jackson and his wife, Kathy, all of Allagash, Harold Jackson and his wife, Linda, of Fort Kent, and Andrew Jackson of St. Francis; one brother, Clark McBreairty of Allagash, 25 grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Lola McBreairty; six brothers, Tyler, Melvin, Charles, Albert, Addison and Theron McBreairty; and two sisters, Fern Kelly and Myrtle Kelly. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and 1 p.m. Thursday until time of services at Allagash Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Allagash Baptist Church, Allagash, with the Rev John Dik officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations may be made to New Baptist Parsonage Building Fund, care of Pastor John Dik, Allagash, ME 04774. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being conducted by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
