BREWER and LARGO, Fla. Fern Dugas, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007. He was born in Montreal, Canada, and was raised in Rumford. He lived his working, adult life in Brewer, where he and his wife, Bernadette, raised a family and enjoyed his retirement years in Largo, Fla. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Largo, Fla., and formerly a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Brewer. Fern was an Eagle Scout and thoroughly enjoyed many of the outdoor sports, especially golf. He was employed by Sherwin-Williams Paints and the manager of the Bangor store for 32 years. Fern is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernadette (Roy) Dugas; a son, Roger Dugas of Bangor; a daughter, Helen Diglia of Oneonta, N.Y., as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fern loved his life in the Palm Hill community of Largo, Fla., and he will be sorely missed. A memorial service was held Aug. 16, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
