CARIBOU and ROCKVILLE, Conn. – Eva M. Doherty, 79, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center, Manchester, Conn. She was born July 5, 1928, in Presque Isle, the daughter of William J. Sullivan and Lena B. (Holmes) Sullivan Sr. Eva excelled at everything she did, whether it be cooking or doing crafts. She and her husband, Gordon, owned and operated a take out named Doherty’s Curb Service, Washburn, back in 1960-1962. It was here that many people enjoyed her famous fried chicken dinners amongst other food dishes. She was a past member of Caribou Assembly of God. She is survived by three children, daughter, Lorraine J. Doherty-Fernandez of Rock-ville, Conn.; a son, Duane G. Doherty and his wife, Laura Ballard Doherty; daughter, Deborah A. Yates and her husband, Miller O. Yates, of California, Md.; five brothers, Gerald Sullivan of Caribou, Omar Sullivan of Tampa, Fla., the Rev. Melvin Sullivan of Florida, the Rev. Raymond Sullivan of Albany, N.Y., and George “Buddy” Sullivan of Woodland; three sisters, Barbara Doherty of Wyoming, Pa., Donna Rae Thibodeau of Scarborough and Maxine Bush of Black River, N.Y; 11 grandchildren, Jeffery A. Dube of Bristol, Conn., Edmund B. Dube of Rockville, Conn., Melissa Doherty of New Britain, Conn., Staci Davis of Manchester, Conn., Amber Doherty of Presque Isle, James T. Doherty of Manchester, Conn., Dakota R. Doherty of Oshkosh, Wis., Paul D. McGrady of Richmond, Va., Randy O. Yates of California, Md. She will also be fondly remembered by Lorraine’s goddaughter, who has known her her entire life, Roseangela Ramos of Rockville, Conn. Angie grew up calling Eva “Nana D,” 10 great-grand-children, Jose Oquendo III, Tyanna Davis, Z’Ondre Davis, Dechi’nae Davis, Enysia, Kalvin and Marlena Doherty, Carter Doherty, Anthony G. Lettoraie and Kara A. Hicks. Relatives and friends may call 2-3 p.m. Sunday at Assemblies of God Church, 210 Sweden St., Caribou, where funeral Services will be conducted 3 p.m. with Pastor Renee Tichnor officiating. Internment will take place after the service at Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home.
