ORRINGTON – Eveline M. “Peggy” Willette, 88, wife of the late Felix Willette, died Dec. 18, 2006, at a Brewer health care facility. She was born May 2, 1918, in Wathlam Cross, England, the daughter of Albert and Annie (Rogers) Threadgold. Peggy met her husband during World War II. She was a 4-H leader, volunteer for the Orrington Library for 20 years, a bookkeeper for Epstein’s for seven years and a member of the East Orrington Congregational Church and the Ladies Aide for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy and her husband, William Sockwell, of Hermon and Pamela and her husband, Ed Smith, of Orrington; one son, Edward Willette and his wife, Nancy, of Fayetteville, N.Y.; one brother, Edward Threadgold and his wife, Margaret, of Bognor Regis, England; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Brawn; and her brother, Bernard Threadgold. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Marston Cemetery, Orrington, with the Rev. Kathryn Smith officiating.
