BREWER – Evelyn A. Rist, 87, wife of the late Robert Rist, died April 18, 2005, at a Bangor health care center. She was born May 19, 1917, in Brewer, the daughter of Ralph and Christine (Hewes) Arey. A devoted wife and mother, Evelyn worked in production for the Nestle Corp. in Fulton, N.Y., for 20 years, retiring at the age of 70. She was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Brewer, and enjoyed times spent with her family especially her Sunday afternoon card games with her sister. Surviving are three children, Christine Regan and her husband, Charles, of Lakeland, Fla., Rosalie White of Bangor, and Vernice Becker and her husband, Martin, of Syracuse, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, Debra Regan, Sandra DePolo and her husband, David, Charles Regan III and his wife, Sandra, Robert Regan, Donald White II and his wife, Karen, Shawna Bouchard and her husband, Tim, William R. White and his wife, Amy, Ronald Stuter and his wife, Becky, Shannon Bove, Kristy Stuter and Sharon Paninski and her husband, Doug; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vernice Sucy of Brewer and Eleanor Young and her husband, James, of Brewer; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Robert Rist Jr.; one brother, Sidney Arey; and six sisters, Frances Carnahan, Annie Sullivan, Marjorie Campbell, Cordelia Ranks, Edith Curtis and Daphne MacNevin. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, April 22 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Brewer, with the Rev. Joel R. Cyr, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
