OLD TOWN – Evelyn (Dupuis) Luce, 81, passed away Feb. 18, 2007, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home. She was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Old Town, the daughter of Edmond and Delena (Damien) Dupuis. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish. Evelyn was a long time resident of Marsh Island Apartments, where she was able to spend time playing card and board games with dear friends, who also lived there. She was very family oriented and never missed a family function. Christmas was known to last three days because she wanted to visit everyone. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Belmont; brothers, Edmond, Raymond, Urban, Charles and Clements Dupuis; and sisters, Rita Grant and Leonie Richard. She is survived by her children, Linda Duquette and her husband, Wilfred, Roxann Bennett and her husband, Reginald, Michael Luce and his wife, Carla; grandchildren, Michael Duquette, Danielle Duquette, Reginald Bennett III and Kyra Luce; several great-grandchildren; her brothers, Norman Dupuis and his wife, Barbie, and Louis Dupuis and his wife, Loraine; and sister, Jeannette Savage. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Holy Family Parish, Old Town. Friends and family are invited to a brunch in the parish hall after services. Interment will be in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Birmingham Funeral Home.
