EAST MILLINOCKET – Evelyn E. Hunter, 75, went to be with her Lord at her daughter’s home July 25, 2005, with her family at her side. She was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Anson, the daughter of Chester and Victoria (Ward) Petley. She graduated from Madison High School and was one of the founding members of the First Baptist Church of East Millinocket. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters. Evelyn enjoyed her family and all kids. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ralph Hunter of East Millinocket; two daughters, Darlene and her husband, Stephen Kimball, of Atkinson, N.H. and Donna and her husband, Peter Coon, of Medway; six grandchildren, Danielle, Gretchen, Tiffany, Jennessa, Drew and Brittany; two great- grandchildren, Victoria and James Jr.; two brothers, Charles and his wife, Barbara Petley of Madison and Ronald and his wife, Fern Petley, of Anson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; and one sister, Helen Greenleaf. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, at the First Baptist Church, East Millinocket, with funeral services being held at 4 p.m., with Pastor Dave Chicoine officiating. Interment will be in the East Millinocket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Evelyn’s memory to the First Baptist Church, 2 Oak St., East Millinocket, ME 04430 or to the Katahdin Area Support Group, 10 Field St., Millinocket, ME 04462.
