ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Evelyn F. Carne, 97, died Nov. 11, 2006, at the Springs, Boca Ciega Bay, Fla. She was born Jan. 23, 1909, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Clara and David Sutter. She lived in South Portland until 1973 when she moved to Florida. She was a secretary at Porteous, Mitchell & Braun department store, Portland, for 20 years and at the former Florida National Bank, St. Petersburg, Fla., for 10 years. She was a devout member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, the King’s Daughters Sunday school class and Baptist Women. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Larraine C. Dimsdale of Sun City Center, Fla., and Elizabeth A. Carne of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two stepsons, Thomas W. Carne of Portland and Bruce Roberts of Brewer; several nieces and nephews, Kathy Fitzherbert and Richard Fitzherbert formerly of Easton, children of Evelyn’s deceased nephew, Richard Sutter; Karen E. Gray of East Falmouth, Mass., and David E. Gray of Brewer, children of her deceased niece, Betty Jane Sutter Gray; Rodney Lister, formerly of Beverly Farms, Mass., son of Evelyn’s deceased sister, Susie Lister.
