LUBEC – Evelyn Green, 83, passed away at a Machias hospital March 19, 2004, with her family at her side. She was born Dec. 1, 1920, in Eastport, the oldest daughter of Raymond and Alice (Wilcox) Cross. She resided most of her life in Lubec. Throughout her years she loved to fish with her husband and family. She enjoyed gardening, but her most enjoyable times were spent with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Olson and husband, Paul, of Lubec; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Green of Baileyville; a brother, Melvin Cross of Brewer; her grandchildren, Jessica Matthews of Lubec, Theresa Green and companion, Wayne Davis, of Richmond, Bethany Hovey and husband, Todd, of Berwick, Craig Green and wife, Michele of Wales; great-grandchildren, Alex and Jaelyn Matthews, Meghan Davis, Alicia, Karie Beth and Christopher Hovey, and Gabrielle and Noah Green; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Merrill; three sons, Richard, Stephen and Leon; and her dear sister, Ethelda. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2004, at the Lubec Christian Temple Church with the Pastor Gary Look officiating. Burial in the Olson Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Those who wish to make donations in her memory may do so to the charity of choice. Arrangements are in the care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
