MAPLETON – Evelyn L. Harris, 77, died Oct. 17, 2003, at her daughter’s residence after a long illness. She was born Nov. 18, 1925, in Oxbow, the daughter of Jacob and Florence (Burt) Morris. A longtime Mapleton resident, she was employed at both Potato Service and at the Converse shoe plant. For the past several years she has resided with her daughter in Caribou. She is survived by three sons, William Cote and his wife, Donna, of Portland, Paul Cote of Mapleton, Delbert Cote of Fort Fairfield; five daughters, Tina House of Rochester, N.Y., Maxine Dempster and her husband, Tony, of Mapleton, Joanne Wilkinson of Goodyear, Ariz., Nancy Charette and her husband, Edwin, of Ashland, Sharon Fitzsimmons of Caribou; one brother, Milton Morris of Troy; 23 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Murton Harris. Family and friends may call 6 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral services will take place 7 p.m. at the Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Stuart Steeves officiating. Interment will be at the South Side Cemetery, Mapleton.
