HOULTON – Evelyn Lydic Lawry, 97, died March 24, 2005, a local health care facility. She was born Jan. 28, 1908, at Seboeis, the daughter of George and Adela (MacIntosh) Lydic. She attended Coburn Classical Institute in Waterville and New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Mass. She taught piano and organ at Coburn until her marriage in 1931, to John A. Lawry. They retired in 1966, to a home in Forest City, on East Grand Lake and moved to Houlton in 1978, because of John’s ill health. Evelyn leaves many good friends in the Houlton area.
