He was also predeceased by two sons, Roland Joy and Carlton Joy Sr.; his daughter, Gwendolyn Joy Jamieson, in June, 2004; and a grandson, Chad Joy, in May, 2000. He is survived by one daughter, Geraldyn Joy Craig and her husband, Robert, of Island Falls; two sons, Malcolm Joy Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Searsmont and Timothy Joy and his wife, Diane, of Holly Hills, Fla.; one son-in-law, Judson Jamieson of Massachusetts; one daughter-in-law, Susan Joy Green of Chattanooga; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Eugene Milliken and his wife, Ruth, of Camden; three sisters-in-law, Blanche Libby and “Tiny” Milliken of Camden and June Francis of Tennessee; many nieces and nephews. Malcolm and Lena raised their family for a few years in Lincolnville, where he was the first selectman for a while. Joy Road carries the family name in Lincolnville. Throughout his many years of life, Mac was a very hard worker. He raised and showed sheep at fairs, winning many prizes. He worked at Knox Woolen Mills in Camden for many years. He was in the real estate business having transacted numerous sales of homes and land. He developed land on Cargill Pond and Stevens Pond in Liberty, where he and his wife also lived for many years. He was also in the car business in Liberty. Malcolm was a member of the Camden Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed a close relationship with the Lord and took great comfort in knowing the Lord, especially in his last days. It is comforting to the family to know that he fell asleep in Jesus and is awaiting the coming of his Lord. There will be a memorial service for Malcolm in June when more of his family can be in Maine. An announcement of time and place will be published at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
