DANFORTH – Everett Raymond Lee Sr., 84, died July 16, 2006, with his children around him, at the Houlton Regional Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 26, 1922, in Danforth, the son of Raymond H. and Caroline K. (Muncey) Lee. Everett was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving in France and Germany. He was a long time member of the Baskehegan Masonic Lodge No. 175 and the Rex L. McKinnon American Legion Post No. 45. He drove trucks his whole life; a dump truck while helping to build I-95 from Bangor to Houlton, a pulp truck, and many years for the Maine Department of Transportation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Red Sox games and spending time at his camp at Greenland Cove, where he liked to ride his four wheeler and visit with his neighbors and friends down the South Road, and his special friends, Bill and Joan Kirby and Rod and Anita Hill. He is survived by his three children, Barbara Gray and husband, Colin, of Weston, Linda Kinney and husband, Alan, of Molunkus, Everett Lee Jr. and wife, Cynthia, of Houlton; the mother of his children, Daisy Deering; seven grandchildren, Mitchell, Daniel and Scott Gray, Melissa (Gray) Grieco, Heather (Kinney) Tompkins, Heath Kinney and Stephanie Harris; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah and Kameron Gray, Nicholas, Jacob and Ethan Gray and Jessyca Matthews; two brothers Wyman and his wife, Noreen, of New York, Delbert and his wife, Janice, of Danforth; one sister, Sylvia (Lee) Williams of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; one special nephew, Richard Hersom; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Nelson Lee. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Rd., Danforth, where an American legion service will be held 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and a Masonic service will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
