HERMON – Everett W. Stubbs Jr., 76, husband of Gail Stubbs, passed away peacefully, April 22, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. Everett was born July 31, 1931, in Hampden, to the late Everett W. Sr. and Mary A. (Whitmore) Stubbs. Everett grew up in Hampden, graduating from Hampden Academy, Class of 1951. Everett married in 1952 and moved to Hermon, where he was a lifelong resident. He worked most of his life on the railroad as an electrician, drove truck, and in his later years worked at Bangor Mental Health Institute in the maintenance department. In Everett’s spare time you could often find him camping with his family, hunting and especially fishing, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Everett will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Everett was predeceased by his daughter, Kathryn “Kathy” (Stubbs) Miller, in 1988. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gail (Carmichael) Stubbs of Hermon; children, Doug Stubbs and wife, Jessica, of Merrill, Charles Stubbs of Sabattus, and Patty Henderson and husband, Frank, of Levant; grandchildren, Adrian Miller Jr. of Hermon, whom was very special to Everett and Gail as they raised him after the death of his mother, Kathy, Zach and Dylan Stubbs of Merrill, Jessy Stubbs of Bangor, Corey and Katie Stubbs of Sabattus, Joe Henderson of Hermon, James Henderson of Bangor, Michelle and Dakoda Henderson of Levant; two sisters, Joan Walker of Glenburn, and Helen Thayer and husband, Fred, of Hudson; as well as several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Everett’s wishes, funeral services will be private. Memorial donations in Everett’s memory may be made to American Diabetes Association, Maine Affiliate, P.O.
