LUBEC – Faunce O. Quimby, 59, died unexpectedly March 3, 2004, at a Machias hospital. He was born July 15, 1944, in Bucks Harbor, the son of Norman and Cora (Proctor) Quimby. He worked for many years as a building superintendent in Brookline, Mass., before returning to Maine to live in Lubec and work at Stinson’s Fish Factory. He loved the ocean and enjoyed lobster fishing with his brother, Danny. He is survived by his wife, Myrlene of Lubec; his mother, Cora of Bucks Harbor; a son, Paul Quimby and wife, Crystal, of Rockland; a daughter, Janet Robertson and companion, Todd Scoville, of Whiting; a brother, Danny and wife, Jean, of Bucks Harbor; a sister, Betty Wood and husband, Stephen JR, of Machiasport; three grandchildren, Dalton and Tabitha of Whiting and Carol Ann of Holden; and a special great-grandson, Colby; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be greatly missed by the residents of Bay View Park Apartments. He was predeceased by his father, Norman, in 1980. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Lubec Christian Temple Church, with Pastor Gary Look officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the Quimby family cemetery in Bucks Harbor. Those wishing to make donations in his memory may do so to the Lubec Christian Temple Church, or to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
