LINCOLN – Fearman T. Chessie, 78, husband of Clara Mae (MacDonald) Chessie, died Aug. 15, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Yoho Valley, New Brunswick, the son of James D. and Lillian (McLaughlin) Chessie. Fearman was a charter member of Matthew Reilley Council, Knights of Columbus. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and was known to his grandchildren as “Seama.” In addition to his wife, Clara; he is survived by five children, Thomas and his wife, Karen, of Brewer, Phillip and his wife, Donna, of Vallejo, Calif., Joan and her husband, Robert Whittier, of Lincoln, David and his fianc?e, Jamie, of Portland, and James and his wife, Evelyn, of Bedford, N.H.; nine grandchildren, Abby, April, Todd, Annie, Bobbie Lynn, Daniel, Derek, Jeffrey and Joseph; five special great-grandchildren, Austin, Jackson, Jaylin, Josh and Bryn; three brothers, Jerry of Fredericton, N.B., Duel of Yoho Valley, N.B., and Walter of British Columbia; three sisters, Theresa Little of McAdam, N.B., Margaret Gulliver of Fredericton, N.B., and Velma White, of St. John, N.B.; four special sisters-in-law, Pauline, Irene, Barbara and Diane, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Phillip, Gabriel, Hazen, Mary, and Agnes. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Andr? Houle officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery, at a later date.
