VAN BUREN – Florence Bourgoin, 66, loving mother of Chad Bourgoin, died March 22, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 22, 1942, in Grand Falls New Brunswick. She was the first born of Mr. Albert and Mrs. Blanch Bourgoin. Florence touched many lives and had been an integral part of watching over and adoring several children whom she cared for in the Van Buren area. Her unique ability to communicate with children, laugh and enjoy their childhood was certainly a gift of God. She spent countless hours volunteering with school activities and assisting where she could. She is survived by her only child, Chad Bourgoin and his wife, Lila; along with her three adoring grandsons, Shane, Justin and Ethan, of Mandan, N.D. She is also survived by her loving siblings in Van Buren, Mrs. Nan Hill, Mr. Russell Bourgoin and wife, Anne, Mrs. Sandra and her husband, Roland Desjardins, Mr. Rodney Bourgoin and his wife, Gaetane; also Mrs. Gail and William Hance of Winooski, Vt., Mrs. Norma and Dennis McGarry of Enfield, Conn., Mr. Wendell Bourgoin and companion, Martine St Pierre, of New Gloucester; a close niece, Natasha Bourgoin; nephew, Shawn Desjardins, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Florence will be remembered by many special friends, especially those who she opened her heart to in an unconditional manner. She was a mother, sister and guardian who had so little, but always gave more than she ever received. Nothing can take the place of such a caring soul but she will be remembered as one of God’s special gifts to this world. She was predeceased by her father and mother. A committal ceremony and celebration of life will be held at a later date. An announcement will precede the event. In place of flowers or gifts, a charitable donation can be made to Boy Scout Troop No. 54, 108 3rd St. NE, Mandan, ND 58554. Funds will be used to assist the growth and moral development of Boy Scouts in need.
