INDIAN TOWNSHIP – Florence E. Patoine, 69, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. Florence was born April 24, 1939, on Peter Dana Point, daughter of the late Lola and Roseann (Sopiel) Sockabasin. She enjoyed cook-ing, arts and crafts, and making bread. Florence was predeceased by two children, Dean Sockabasin and Roger Patoine; a brother, Lawrence Sockabasin; a sister, Marymae Larrabee; a grandson, Thomas Hood Jr.; and a great-grandson, William Curtis. Surviving are her husband, Roger of Brookton; seven children, Belinda Gabriel, Mike Best and Henry Sockabasin and his wife, Millie, all of Indian Township, Jeannie Perley of Canada, Tina Barbato and her husband, Jim, of Virginia, Randy Patoine and his wife, Jennifer, of Brookton and Melody Voigt and her husband, Lee, of North Dakota; two sisters, Diane Campbell and her husband, Gordon, and Annabell Meader, all of Indian Township; four brothers, David Sockabasin and his wife, Gloria, Clayton Sockabasin and his wife, Patricia, and Ray Sockabasin and his wife, Sandy, all of Indian Township, and Patrick Sockabasin and his wife, Maryellen, of Old Town; an aunt, Edith Sappier of Canada; a special niece, Cindy Perley and her husband, Jim, of Indian Township; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call noon Tues-day until 10 a.m. Thursday at Indian Township Elderly Meal Site. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Mission, Peter Dana Point by Father Frank Morin. Burial will be after at Tribal Cemetery.
