CAMDEN – Florence Johnson Good, 86, of Camden, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, due to complications from a fall. Born March 13, 1920, in Tenants Harbor, she was the daughter of Ernest and Olga (Karty) Johnson. Florence was a 1938 graduate of Rockland High School and attended Boston University. She married John S. Good Oct. 24, 1940, raised her family in Camden, and worked into her 70’s at Tibbetts Industries. Upon retirement, Florence focused her abundant energy to her bed and breakfast, “The Good House,” and her family she dearly loved. She developed long lasting friendships with her guests, many returning repeatedly for her special breakfasts and blueberry muffins. She was happiest when cooking in her kitchen for family, friends and guests, and took pride in her guest’s reviews in Travel Magazines about the B & B and her hospitality. At the time of her fall, she was looking forward to the summer guest season and the graduation of her granddaughter from Colby College and her grandson from UCONN dental school. She was a loving and proud mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her complete selflessness and devotion to all of her family and friends. Florence is predeceased by a son, Paul James Good; a daughter, Joan R. Good; a sister, Ruth Knowlton; a brother, Donald Johnson; and her husband, John S. Good. She is survived by her special loving friend and partner, Walter Sukeforth of Camden; two daughters, Kathy Pinkham and her husband, David, of Cape Elizabeth; Mary Jane Good and her partner, George Gendron, of Machias; her grandchildren, Kristen and D.J. Pinkham and Brendan and Patrick Hallissey; two sisters, Agnes McCullough and her husband, Jack and Marion Mank; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Laite Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden. Family and friends are invited to The Good House, 50 Elm St., Camden following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 707, Rockport, ME 04856. Private interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
