PRESQUE ISLE – Carmenlita Fay Hobbs, 55, died Saturday night, April 22, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 2, 1950, at Mars Hill, the daughter of Gardiner “West” and Bernice (Hotham) Beals. She was a loving sister and a generous person, always there to help someone in need, an avid BINGO player, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Presque Isle. She is survived by her father of Mars Hill; her soul mate of 13 years, Dana York of Presque Isle; a son, Donald Hobbs Jr. of Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter, Tina Hobbs of Chamblee, Ga.; three sisters, Rhonda LaVoie and her husband, David, of Presque Isle, Myra Wilcox and her husband, Richard, of Mapleton, Debbie A. Beals and her fiance, Alan Ferris, of Mars Hill; a sister-in-law, “Rusty” Beals of Chancellor, Ala.; six grandchildren; special friends, Anne “Mom” Thurlow and Brian Goding, both of Presque Isle, Shawn Goding of West Gardiner. She was predeceased by her mother; her husband, Donald Hobbs Sr.; a daughter, Carmella Dee Hobbs; a brother, Merton H. Beals; and a special friend, Allen Goding. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle with the Rev. Mark Hartley officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Tapley Cemetery, Blaine.
