VEAZIE – Sylvia F. Paine, 84, died April 22, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 22, 1922, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Nina (Heming) Veayo. Sylvia was educated in Bangor schools, graduated from Bangor High School and Husson College, and worked as a bookkeeper and secretary in the Bangor area. She is survived by her son, Galen “Skip” W. Flagg and wife, Nancy, of Holden; a step-daughter-in-law, Patricia Paine of Avieda, Fla.; step daughter, Diane and husband, Michael Mellott and children of Carmel; a sister, Oleavia Witzel of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Galen Veayo and wife, Nadea, of Bangor; a special friend, Jen Kigas; several nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Laurence “Larry” K. Paine June 21, 1999. At Sylvia’s request, a graveside service for immediate family will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer, with the Rev.
