HOLDEN and BERLIN, Vt. – Florence Martha Chisholm, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, Feb. 12, 2005, in the comfort of her family and caregivers in the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 27, 1916, in Milltown, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Godfrey) Lowe. She was married to John F. Chisholm on April 4, 1942 in Hartford, Conn. Mr. Chisholm predeceased her July 18, 1975. Florence was a graduate of the St. Stephen school system in St. Stephen, New Brunswick and continued her education at the Fredericton Normal School graduating with her teaching degree. She was an educator for multiple grades in the St. Stephen area for several years. Following her marriage she dedicated her life to raising her family and as a homemaker. She later provided private kindergarten from her home for several years. Her leisure time was spent enjoying crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and bingo, reading; was an avid Boston Red Sox and Norwich hockey fan, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Florence is survived by her daughters, Pam Chisholm and her husband, Ted Franzeim, of Duxbury, Vt., and Teri Pyle and her husband, Tony, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; seven grandchildren, as a well as several nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Jeanne Stone; and her sister, Frances Dow, predeceased her. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family with inurnment to take place in Hill Rest Cemetery in Holden.
