TRENTON – Florence T. Leland, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at the Mount Desert Island Hospital after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 8, 1907, in Eden, the daughter of Edward P. and Orra (Hadley) Thomas. Florence attended schools in Trenton Center and Bar Harbor. In June 1926, Florence married Arthur E. Leland. She worked at the Jackson Laboratory retiring in 1973. Florence is survived by her stepson, Carold; her sons, Robert and Carroll; her daughters, Marjorie, Lillian, Pauline and Helen; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Arthur E. Leland Jr.; her husband, Arthur; and her eight brothers and sisters. At her request there will be no funeral service. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Leland Cemetery in Trenton.
