BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Florence Wardwell Waite, 85, died peacefully Oct. 11, 2005, surrounded by her loving sons. She was the daughter of the late Chester Alan and Henrietta Mae Wardwell of Boston, Mass. She married her late husband of 59 years, Parker Read Waite Jr. on St. Valentine’s Day, 1941. Florence was a caring and devoted wife and mother, whose greatest pleasure was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing time with friends in a game of tennis, squash or bridge. An accomplished sailor, she spent 30 years cruising the coast of Maine and the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband aboard “Osprey II.” She is survived by three sons, Parker R. Waite III and his wife, Carolyn, of Sedgwick, John W. Waite and his wife, Janet, of Bernardsville, N.J. and David S. Waite and his wife, Sally Richardson, of Stonington. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr, Pa. A reception will follow at Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beaumont Medical Center, 601 North Ithan Ave., Bryn Mawr, Pa. 19010-1797.
