STEUBEN – Floyd T. Flynn, 91, of 1071 Unionville Road, died early Sun-day morning, May 27, 2007, at his home. Floyd was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Steuben, to the late Willis Flynn and Minnie (Pettee) Flynn. He married Hazel R. Hodgkins, June 17, 1937. She survives him in Unionville. Floyd pastored the Unionville Church of God approximately 20 years and built the church in its present location. His occupation was a carpenter. He worked for Bob Ray and E. M. Shea, Ellsworth. Floyd was most at home in the woods cutting firewood and on his blueberry fields. He was in the Merchant Marines in the Pacific in 1945. After retiring from pastoring the Unionville Church of God, he filled in as pastor at the Advent Christian Church, Marsh-field. Also during his years of ministry, he pastored the Pittsfield Church of God, Pittsfield. He also held services at chur-ches in Korea and Sullivan. His last few years he held services at Narraguagus Estates Retirement Center, Cherryfield. Floyd is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Hazel Flynn; one daughter, Beverly Burt and her husband, Jerry, of Goshen, Ind.; one son, Willis E. “Bill” Flynn and his wife, Mattie, of Lawrenceville, Ill.; two grandsons, Jerry Burt Jr. and wife, Becky, of Goshen, Ind., and Michael Flynn and wife, Simone, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany; two granddaughters, Shelley Flynn of Ellicott City, Md., and Rebecca Shaw and husband, Todd, of Fairfield, Ill.; six great-grand-children, Nicholas Jay Burt, Kristyn Burt, Jessica Burt, Dakota Flynn, Hannah Shaw and Ethan Shaw; two nephews, Floyd “Buddy” Farren and his wife, Marlene, and Harold Farren and his wife, Gwen; two nieces, Anna Meidahl and husband, Clive, and Eleanor Hampton. He was predeceased by a sister, Maola Farren of Unionville. Family and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, and 1-2 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Unionville Church of God, Unionville Road, Unionville, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
