BRADLEY – Forest Charles Emerson, 63, died peacefully July 26, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Jan. 6, 1943, in Old Town, a son of Charles H. and Virginia E. (Collins) Emerson. At a very young age, Forest started working on a dairy farm milking cows. He was employed at several businesses in the Bangor and Old Town area for several years and then worked at the University of Maine. He retired in 2005 from the university after 26 years of service as a janitor in facilities management. Forest never met a person he didn’t like or try to help. He loved gardening, his animals, listening to audio books and the ocean. He was a member and trustee of the Bradley Baptist Church. He will be sorely missed by his constant companion and walking partner, “Pepe.” He is survived by his wife and one true love, Linda Oliver Emerson; a son, Brian Emerson and his wife, Jackie and their two children, Katelyn and Thomas of Streator, Ill.; a brother, Nathan Emerson and his wife, Melanie, of Bradley; a sister, Glennice Kelcher and her husband, Kevin, of Berwick, Pa.; stepdaughters from a previous marriage, Betty Jones of Holden and Rose Ireland Lane of Arizona; a special friend, who was like a daughter, Rebecca Beal of Bradley; two brothers-in-law, Dick Oliver and his wife, Pat, and David Oliver and his wife, Shirley; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Forest’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Bradley Baptist Church, Highland Avenue, Bradley, with the Rev. Patrick Seymour and eulogy delivered by Dan Muscatelle.
