ELLSWORTH – Gerry Wayne Leavitt, 66, went to be with the Lord July 31, 2006, in Ellsworth. He was born July 2, 1940, in Dennysville, the son of Maurice G. and Susan (Seeds) Leavitt Sr. Gerry worked for Bar Harbor Motor Co. for 10 years, Town Auto for 20 years and for many of those years as general manager. In more recent years, Gerry operated the Mill Mall Furniture Store. He was a member of the Lygonia Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 40 where he was past master; Blanquefort Commandary and Anah Shrine of Bangor. He was a life member of the Funsters Unit as Woody Woodpecker. He was also a trustee and member of the Maine Coast Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Jackie Haley Leavitt; daughter, Brenda Leavitt-Saunders and husband, Allan; a very special grandson, Brandon Leavitt, all of Ellsworth; brothers, Albert Leavitt of Paisley, Fla., Herbert Leavitt of Exeter and Maurice G. Leavitt Jr. of Dona Vista, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; aunt, Lorraine Perry of Manchester, Conn. and many cousins. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, with a Masonic service 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at Maine Coast Baptist Church, Bangor Road, Ellsworth, with Pastor Gerry Dill officiating.
