BANGOR – It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Ann Blair announce her unexpected death, Nov. 18, 2006. Frances Ann was born Sept. 7, 1940, the daughter of Robert and Frances (Dolan) Blair in Windsor, Canada. Frances Ann graduated from the Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing, Windsor. For the past 47 years her passion and commitment was to cardiac nursing. Her work took her to the Houston Medical Center, Miami Heart Institute, and most recently Eastern Maine Medical Center. Upon retirement she put her energy into quilting, enjoying the love of creating “material art” with her many quilting friends. She was a member of Hampden Highland Quilters. Frances Ann enjoyed crewel work, embroidery and knitting. Recently she started knitting warming caps for the newborns at Windsor Regional Medical Center. Frances Ann was an avid reader and collector of books. She enjoyed all aspects of art and music. She is survived by her sister, Sheila Blair-Mosley of Windsor, Ontario; her brother, Robert Blair and wife, Rose, of Dryden, Ontario; her niece, Krista Ann Mosley and husband, Stephen Biro, of Windsor, Ontario. She is also survived by many cousins and friends in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Michigan, Florida and Maine. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with funeral services to begin 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roland Nadeau officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service. Gifts in her memory may be made to Operation Bookmark, a literacy project of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland or to a charity of your choice.
