HOULTON – Frances DeWitt, 81, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, in Houlton. She was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Houlton, the daughter Manzer and Etta (Cronkhite) Clark. She was a graduate of Houlton High School in 1945 and Northern Maine Technical College, with a licensed practical nurse degree. She retired from Houlton Regional Hospital. She is survived by her three children, Gary DeWitt and his wife, Nancy, of Gilbert, Ariz., Robert DeWitt and his wife, Jill, of Portland and Sally Gentle of Houlton; four grandchildren, Bill Graham and his wife, Jackie, of Cedar Grove, Texas, Adrienne Stubbs and her husband, Steve, of North Waterboro, Matthew Graham of Portland and Sarah Gentle of Houlton; and three great-grandchildren, Garrett and Brielle Stubbs, and Brandon Graham. She was predeceased by her sister, Glenna Clark, in 1923; and a beloved grandson, Lucas DeWitt, in 2001. Frannie will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her ability to tell a story and make people laugh. She loved her church, music, playing piano, animals and her community. She will be greatly missed by many cherished family and fri-ends. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. with the Rev. Art Myers officiating.
