LINCOLN – Frances (Piraino) Cameron, 95, wife of Walter Cameron, died Jan. 3, 2004, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born Nov. 24, 1908, in Palermo, Italy, the daughter of Ettora and Serafino Piraino. Married Dec. 17, 1937, Walter and Frances just recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary. They lived in Brookton until 1938, when they moved to Lincoln, where they operated the Silver Star Cleaners for many, many years. Frances was a member of Community Evangel Temple. A Sunday school teacher for 75 years, she was the 1995-1996 recipient of the Henrietta Mears Award for being National Sunday school teacher of the year. She was a member of the Republican Women’s Club. In addition to her husband, Walter, she is survived by very special nieces, Fauna Small and Dawn Small of Camden; special nephews, Robert Cameron of Portland, and Jon Small of Bangor; a special friend, Charlotte Whitley of Lincoln; a sister, Betty Agolia of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers, Dan Piraino of San Diego, Calif., Ettore Piraino of Claremont, Calif., and John Piraino of Duncan Hills, Long Island, N.Y.; several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Celia Gibson, Jane Rouleau and Rose Beals. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Community Evangel Temple, 124 Riverside Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Brookton.
