OLD TOWN and OTIS – Francis H. “Pete” Thibodeau, 85, passed away July 10, 2007, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born July 12, 1921, in Old Town the son of Henry and Clara (Bouchard) Thibodeau. Pete served our country in the Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean War. He was a prisoner of war during World War II. Pete also served in the Maine Air National Guard. He worked at the former Penobscot Chemical Fiber for 39 years and he retired as a shift supervisor. Pete was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Rose (Jack) Thibodeau; sister, Blanche Tredwell; and brother, Wilfred Thibodeau. Pete is survived by his sons, Allen Thibodeau and his wife, Catherine, of Otis and Gary Thibodeau and his wife, Joan, of Milford; grandchildren, Michael, Judi, Guy, Lisa, Tammy and Tommy; great-grandchildren, Owen, Mason, Steven, Hailie, Lucas and Hunter; sister, Yvette Cormier; brother, Robert Thibodeau; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, at Holy Family Parish. Interment will be afterward at St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon after the service at Holy Family Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mariaville Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department, 2171 Mariaville Road, Mariaville, ME 04605. Arrangements are in the care of Birmingham Funeral Home.
