GUILFORD – Frank E. Turner, 87, died Sept. 21, 2005, at a Dover-Foxcroft hos-pital. He was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Ellsworth, the son of Harris and Lydia (Googins) Turner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Fay Scott in Dexter for several years and for Dexter Shoe Co. for 14 years. He was a member of the Abner Wade Masonic Lodge No. 207, Sangerville, the OES, Sangerville, the Stott Flanders American Legion Post No. 165, Sangerville and the United Methodist Church of Guilford. He is survived by his wife, Bertha (Bunker) Turner of Guilford; a son, Elgin Turner of Southbury, Conn.; five stepchildren, Owen Campbell of Sangerville, Galen Campbell of Guilford, Orman Campbell of St. James, Mo., Gloria Grant of Sangerville and Regina Jackson of Sangerville; 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Youngblood of Milo; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Beulah Reed, Mildred Cassidy and Florence Cooley; three brothers, William, Lewis and John Turner of Dover-Foxcroft. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the United Methodist Church, Guilford with the Rev. Daniel Bollen officiating. Burial will be in Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Augusta. Those who wish may make donations to the Abner Wade Masonic Lodge, care of John Greenleaf, P.O. Box 251, Monson, ME 04464.
