EDDINGTON – Seely N. Clark passed away Sept. 18, 2005. He was born Aug. 1, 1927, to Seely N. Clark and Aurissia (Curtis) Clark. One of thirteen children, he moved to East Corinth at the age of 11. He attended East Corinth schools and helped on the family farm until he was 15, then he went into the world to make his fortune. His first job was with Boarder Express, which he left to join the mer-chant marines. Four years later, he met the love of his life Constance “Connie” Cleaves. They married and had four children, two sons, Seely N. Clark III and Patrick M. Clark; two daughters, Delores L. Goodwin and Alicia L. Allen. Alicia was her mother’s best friend, traveling with her and taking care of her the five years prior to her death. Seely and Connie built five homes on the Clewleyville Road in Eddington and a gift shop called “Clarks Gifts” on the main road in East Eddington, which they operated for 18 years before Connie’s passing. They also purchased the Eddington Postal Facility in 1987 and are still leasing to the government. Seely retired from A.P.A. trucking in 1989, thanks to Union Local No. 340. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his grandson Benjamin Clark Goodwin. Seely was predeceased by five brothers, George, Walter, Benjamin, Sterling and Arnold; two sisters, Dorethy and Madeline. He is survived by four sisters, Waneta, Florence, Lottie and Virginia; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dad’s companion, Sandra Blow for all of her love and care she gave our Dad during his illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be directed to Alicia L. Allen, P.O. Box 459, Brewer, ME 04412. All donations will be used for an educational trust for Seely’s two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Georgianna Goodwin. A celebration of Seely’s life will be held 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at his home on the Clewleyville Road in Eddington.
